ABOUT THIS PUB

The Flying Duck is a traditional Yorkshire Dales real ale and fine wine bar situated in Ilkley town centre. Formerly known as the Albert and the Mallard, it is the town's oldest pub building, dating back to the early 1600s. The current structure was built as a farmhouse in 1709. Unique in the area, the Flying Duck incorporates its own brewing facilities in a converted barn at the back of the pub which trades under theshow more... name of Wharfedale Brewery. The brewery produces a range of ales which are served at the Duck and other pubs throughout Wharfedale. The pub retains many of its original features including York stone and oak wooden floors, beamed ceilings, exposed stone walls and real fire places. Between the pub and the brewery is a decked beer garden with an impressive viewing gallery. The Flying Duck serves nine cask real ales, real ciders, continental lagers, bottled beers from around the world and an extensive range of fine wines, and artisan spirits including speciality gins, malt whiskies and other spirits. Families, well behaved dogs, walkers and cyclists are all welcome and free WIFI is available throughout.
